Ripstop: This fabric, often made from nylon, uses a special reinforcing technique that makes it rip and tear resistant. During weaving, the threads are intertwined at regular intervals to in a criss-cross pattern. The intervals are generally 5 to 8 mm. Ripstop fabric is thin and lightweight and has a 3-dimensional structure due to the thicker threads being interwoven in thinner cloth. |
