French safety standard document that sets out the minimum safety specifications for bike racks intended for rear mounting of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles whose maximum permissible total mass, as defined in ISO 1176, is less than or equal to 3.5 t. It sets the technical specifications and testing methods that provide both the user of rear bike racks and road users with a minimum level of safety if rear bike racks are used according to the manufacturer's instructions. The specifications in this document also complement the provisions of French Directive 74/483 / EEC and subsequent amendments relating to these products.
