COMPOSITION:

Dyneema®: Dyneema® is a super-strong fibre made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight polyethylene making it extremely resistant and ideal for heavy loads. This material is used for climbing and holding slings. It is not designed for shock absorption, therefore it is not recommended for dynamic belaying.

RESISTANCE INFORMATION:

According to the CE EN 12275 standard, carabiner breaking resistance must be specified above (with the CE marking and the year of manufacture) according to three values:

  • Major axis resistance with gate closed (1)
  • Minor axis resistance with gate closed (2)
  • Major axis resistance with gate open (3)

For a carabiner, major axis resistance with closed gate (1) is about 22 to 25 kilograms, and 7 to 1 kilograms with open gate (3). For a locking carabiner, the resistance in the major axis closed gate (1) is from about 3 to 25 kg, 1 to 7 kg open gate (3) and 8 to 11 kg in the minor axis.
