TECHNOLOGY:

Dual Compound®: The tyre is made from two types of rubber, a harder one on the thread surface and a softer one on the sides. It combines a soft silica rubber on the surface of the tyre to optimise the grip and mud wicking, and a harder rubber underneath to strengthen the grooves and help resist punctures. The soft rubber is in direct contact with the ground, while the harder compound is between the tread and the tyre casing.

TPI (Threads Per Inch- number of threads / inch) : This measure translates the thread density in the tyre's carcass. The higher the density, the lighter, more supple and rolling the tyre.

Bead : The bead is a roll of copper, aramid or carbon threads reinforcing the tyre's heel which ensures grip on the rim. The beads are rigid (TR) when they are made from copper and soft (TS) when they are made of aramid or carbon. They over more lightness and resistance and allow the tyre to bend with no damage:

  • Rigid Beads: robustness (33 to 66 TPI)
  • Soft Beads : suppleness and efficiency (66 to 127 TPI)
