G+ Isotech®: Vittoria’s unique Graphene compound with revolutionary G+, as provided by technology partner Directa Plus. No compromise is necessary with this compound that is superior in speed (rolling resistance), grip, durability and wear resistance. Graphene is a nano material (carbon crystal) with a mechanical resistance 200 times stronger than steel with 6 times more elasticity.

4C: Exclusively developed by Vittoria to achieve performance products without compromise. Vittoria 4C is a layering process, using 4 separate compounds in the same tread. The 4C process offers unmatched versatility, by allowing for separate base and surface compounds, in both the centre and side areas of the tread. Benefiting from the different properties of each compound, including the G+ Isotech, their distribution is extensively tested to deliver the best products imaginable. Corespun: Vittoria Corespun carcasses are the result of years of experience, R&D, and innovative production technology. The starting material is a very fine thread of polycotton fibres. These threads are cotton-covered polyester. The tight weave is then coated with latex. Corespun carcasses stand out by their dimensions and admixtures.

 

COMPOSITION:

 

Kevlar®: Best known for its use in resistant armour, Kevlar® is an aramid fibre developed by DuPont™. It is a thermoplastic polymer consisting of aromatic rings which are separated by the amide groups. It is also used in various garments, accessories and equipment to enhance safety and abrasion resistance. It is light, durable and resistant.

This is a synthetic fibre which has excellent tensile properties and a high tensile strength. The toughness of Kevlar comes from its structure of hydrogen bonds held together between polymer chains.

TPI (Threads Per Inch): This is the measurement of the thread density in the tyre's carcass. The higher the density, the lighter, more flexible and smooth the tyre.

Bead: A tyre bead is a bundle of copper, aramid or carbon wires and it is the part of the tyre that anchors it to the rim. Rigid beads (TR) are made from copper and soft beads (TS) are made of aramid or carbon. They are lighter and more resistant allowing the tyre to bend without damage: 

  • Rigid bead: robustness (33 to 66 TPI)
  • Soft bead: flexibility and efficiency (66 to 127 TPI)
