TECHNOLOGY:

MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System): This system is based on a hard plastic shell placed inside the helmet. Fixed to the helmet with multi-directional attachments, the MIPS system can move in all directions inside the helmet. The aim is to let the helmet move freely on the head in the event of an oblique impact. By turning around the head, the helmet absorbs and dissipates the force of the impact, thus reducing the effect on the brain.

BOA FS360: Taking customised fit to the next level, Smith introduces the Boa FS360 Fit System. With a full 360 degree halo design, this system advances the category by offering both forward and lateral fit adjustments. Feel the system fit snug to the head in a full halo, allowing for a "floating" effect that eliminates helmet hot spots. Offering Boa's standard intuitive dial system for on-the-fly micro-adjustability, along with vertical adjustment options, the Boa FS360 Fit System is a best-in-class fit system, offered in Smith's market-leading Vantage helmet.

AEROCORE BY KOROYD: Smith's objective and design philosophy behind AeroCore™ construction is to increase airflow, improve temperature regulation resulting in fog-free vision and improve impact resistance. The objective was achieved through the combination of materials such as EPS and Koroyd®, a revolutionary new material that absorbs more energy upon impact when compared to international standards, while increasing airflow. AeroCore™ construction through the use of Koroyd® and EPS allows for more vents to be placed throughout the helmet without sacrificing protection and comfort..

AIREVAC 2: The AirEvac 2 system directs hot air to the exterior of the goggles via external vents and internal channels in the expanded polystyrene coating. The air flow can be adjusted using the Regulator control system of the helmet.

AIRFLOW: Airflow ventilation uses strategically placed vents for easy climate control in all conditions. Vent placement maximizes airflow and heat exhaustion in warm temperatures while minimizing undesired cold air drafts. Fabric flaps in the lining design on certain models allow you to open and close the airflow vents for adjustable comfort.

FID LOCK®: Fasteners that can be opened with just one hand, even when wearing gloves. When the fastener is closed, the magnets move towards each other due to magnetic pull. Once connected, the magnets are automatically locked together securely by the mechanical locking function. These attachments are robust, reliable and secure.

COMPOSITION:

In-Mold: Construction with unique moulding between the outer shell and the inner lining, significantly reducing the weight of the helmet and providing more efficient ventilation. This unique construction also improves diffusion of the impact over a larger part of the helmet.

The outer shell made from polycarbonate (known for its excellent impact resistance) is directly moulded with the expanded polystyrene (EPS) inner foam.
