TECHNOLOGY:

 

MIPS: this technology is used to reduce the rotational forces to the brain in the case of an oblique impact. Smith helmets are created to absorb direct impacts very efficiently and when combined with MIPS®, Smith helmets absorb oblique forces better by allowing a small rotation of the outer shell relative to the liner.

 

AEROCORE BY KOROYD: Smith's objective and design philosophy behind AeroCore™ construction is to increase airflow, improve temperature regulation resulting in fog-free vision and improve impact resistance. The objective was achieved through the combination of materials such as EPS and Koroyd®, a revolutionary new material that absorbs more energy upon impact when compared to international standards, while increasing airflow. AeroCore™ construction through the use of Koroyd® and EPS allows for more vents to be placed throughout the helmet without sacrificing protection and comfort..

 

VaporFit™: Designed to guarantee maximum comfort, the VaporFit™ system works via a rotary dial adjustment system integrated with a tuned elastic fit using engineered shapes. Each VaporFit™ system has a full 5cm of rotary adjustability. Additionally, the system can be moved up and down or forwards and backwards at the attachment points. The final result is increased comfort with a personalised, secure fit.

 

AirEvac™: AirEvac™ generates maximum airflow and expels hot air to prevent goggle fogging. The warm air is pushed to the top of the goggles and goes through the helmet's AirEvac system.

 

X-STATIC®: Tested by Olympic athletes, American special forces and NASA astronauts, X-Static® guarantees unbeatable protection and performance. Made from 99.% pure silver, X-Static® improves products by providing permanent anti-microbial and anti-odour properties. CONSTRUCTION:

 

Spherical: Spherical lenses are built on a base curve in both the X (horizontal) and Y (vertical) axes. This makes the spherical lens more rounded to follow the shape of the retina. They provide a wider field of vision, which is helpful in busy environments with lots of trees, trunks or rocks. Spherical lenses help you perceive relief and also help improve your performance when skiing downhill.

 

COMPOSITION:

 

In-Mold: Construction with unique moulding between the outer shell and the inner lining, significantly reducing the weight of the helmet and providing more efficient ventilation. This unique construction also ensures a better diffusion of the impact over a larger part of the helmet.

The outer shell made from polycarbonate (known for its excellent impact resistance) is directly moulded with the expanded polystyrene (EPS) inner foam.
