1% FOR THE PLANET :
Lafuma has become a member of 1% for the Planet for its equipment range and joins this international collective of companies, associations and individuals working together for a healthy planet! This is a logical step for Lafuma, the result of over 30 years of commitment. Since 1993, Lafuma has collaborated with an entire ecosystem of communities: WWF, France Nature Environnement, Naturevolution, Surfrider, Mountain Riders, Mountain Wilderness, Act for the Outdoors, etc. Lafuma took on their share of responsibility as a brand very early on, with belief in their significant power to act. 1% for the Planet and Lafuma share common values and are both pioneers. The 1% for the Planet endowment fund connects patrons and companies with associations that have projects and monitors the respect of the commitment by the members. Member companies undertake to donate 1% of their annual turnover (total or of a range) to approved associations. |
COMPOSITION:
Ripstop: This synthetic fabric, often made from nylon or polyester, uses a special reinforcing technique that makes it tear and abrasion-resistant. During the weaving process, reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals into the hatched pattern. The intervals are generally 5 to 8 millimetres. Ripstop fabric is thin and lightweight with thicker threads interwoven into thinner cloth for a 3-dimensional structure.
TECHNOLOGY:
DWR: This coating allows water to form beads and run off the shell fabric instead of being absorbed. The water-repellent outer fabric increases insulation and prevents it from being saturated by liquids, preventing any feeling of dampness.
CERTIFICATION:
PFC Free: PFCs belong to a group of chemical compounds that are used in a number of outdoor products for waterproofing the outer material. Their use has received a lot of criticism, as they are considered non-biodegradable. They build up in the body and are suspected to be harmful to health. PFC-free products are environmentally friendly. |
