TECHNOLOGY:

DWR: This coating allows water to form beads and run off the shell fabric instead of being absorbed. The water-repellent outer fabric increases insulation and prevents it from being saturated by liquids, preventing any feeling of dampness.

COMPOSITION:

Ripstop: This synthetic fabric, often made from nylon or polyester, uses a special reinforcing technique that makes it tear and abrasion-resistant. During the weaving process, reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals into the hatched pattern. These intervals are generally 5 to 8 millimetres. Ripstop fabric is thin and lightweight with thicker threads interwoven into thinner cloth for a 3-dimensional structure.

Technowarm® Loft: The TechnoWarm® Loft padding is a blend of naturally comfortable fibres. The blend of synthetic fibres offer a perfect combination of compression, weight and heat.

CERTIFICATION:

PFC Free: PFCs belong to a group of chemical compounds that are used in a number of outdoor products for waterproofing the outer material. Their use has received a lot of criticism, as they are considered non-biodegradable. They build up in the body and are suspected to be harmful to health.

PFC-free products are environmentally friendly.

OEKO-TEX® Certification: The innovative fibres used are certified by Oeko-Tex®, an internationally recognised control body. This label certifies that the fibres do not contain chemical elements that are harmful to the skin and the individual.

Bluesign® Standard: Environmental program to eliminate substances that are potentially hazardous to human health or the environment from the textile supply chain. A Bluesign® approved fabric ensures that:

  • The fabric itself is free of harmful chemicals
  • Unsafe emissions in water, ground and air are reduced
  • The use of energy resources is controlled and reduced to a minimum
  • The working conditions are healthy and safe

Low Impact™: Low Impact™ is based on 2 criteria that are essential to eco-design: the use of materials with a low environmental impact (at least 40% of the weight of the product is made from low impact materials such as Ecoya, Sorona®, tencel, hemp, RDS feathers), or certified materials (at least 80% of the product weight must be certified Bluesign®, Oeko-Tex®).

Lafuma has become a member of 1% for the Planet for its equipment range and joins this international collective of companies, associations and individuals working together for a healthy planet! This is a logical step for Lafuma, the result of over 30 years of commitment.

Since 1993, Lafuma has collaborated with an entire ecosystem of communities: WWF, France Nature Environnement, Naturevolution, Surfrider, Mountain Riders, Mountain Wilderness, Act for the Outdoors, etc. Lafuma took on their share of responsibility as a brand very early on, with belief in their significant power to act. 1% for the Planet and Lafuma share common values and are both pioneers.

The 1% for the Planet endowment fund connects patrons and companies with associations that have projects and monitors the respect of the commitment by the members. Member companies undertake to donate 1% of their annual turnover (total or of a range) to approved associations.
